Going beyond best practices to understand principles

HBS Professor and GHD Leader Michael Porter is featured in the September issue of the Harvard Business Bulletin. In Africa, Porter Sees Lessons for Health Care follows the work of Porter at the Global Health Delivery Project and highlights the example of Rwanda, following the recent visits of His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, and of Dr. Agnès Binagwaho, Executive Secretary of the National AIDS Control Commission of Rwanda, to Boston.

As Porter explains, “the goal of the Global Health Delivery Project is to make the first-ever systematic study of global health-care delivery systems, going beyond best practices to understand principles.”
