Welcome to Dr. Hamish Fraser, a new co-moderator for the GHDonline Health IT Community. Trained in cardiology with a specialization in medical informatics, Dr. Fraser is an expert in the development of medical informatics in resource-limited settings. He currently serves as Director of Informatics and Telemedicine at Partners In Health, where he implemented OpenMRS, an open source electronic medical record system used to monitor and support over 3000 MDR TB and HIV patients in Peru and Haiti. And following the recent 14th World Conference on Tobacco or Health, Dr. Asaf Bitton, a former adviser to the WHO on tobacco in Eastern Europe who is currently documenting and measuring the impact of tobacco control policies in South Africa and on promoting the provision of tobacco services in resource limited settings, shares exclusive notes on tobacco cessation in Tuberculosis services.
