Ackman Fund for Global Health Delivery

GHD is pleased to announce the Ackman Fund for Global Health Delivery with a gift of $1 million from William A. Ackman, AB, MBA through the Pershing Square Foundation. The Ackman Fund will provide funding for GHD’s efforts through the Harvard Initiative for Global Health (HIGH), a university-wide initiative established with the leadership of Paul Farmer, Jim Yong Kim, and Michael Porter. More specifically, The Fund will support multiple aspects of GHD’s work, including research to create a theoretical framework for global health delivery, curriculum and case study development for undergraduate and graduate courses, and the expansion and enhancement of GHD’s web-based “communities of practice” on GHDonline.

Michael Porter captures the ignificance of this investment, saying that “Bill Ackman’s gift will have a tremendous impact on Harvard’s ability to develop effective care delivery models. Through his generosity, Bill has strengthened an important program at Harvard and builds on the University’s existing capacities in global health education.”
