The GHD Research Team is developing a series of case studies that investigate the interactions between Global Health Initiatives and Health Systems, and is recruiting two Research Assistants (RA) to support this project.

RAs will be part of the Global Health Delivery Project and gain exposure to a broad range of health, management, social justice and other issues. With an expected start date in September 2009, RAs will work both independently and in collaboration with faculty members to conduct literature reviews and background research; develop annotated bibliographies; help with the organization and analysis of research data; code qualitative interview data; assist in writing and editing research reports and articles; and prepare materials for meetings and conferences.

Ideal candidates have a BA/BS, an outstanding academic record; excellent writing, research, analysis, communication, and organizational skills. Flexibility is essential, as is the desire to work for a dynamic, mission-driven organization. Fluency in a second language and/or experience with qualitative research methods is preferred.

About Erin Sullivan

Erin Sullivan, Ph.D., Research Associate At GHD, Erin conducts various research projects and contributes to teaching materials, notably on Tuberculosis, Prevention of Mother-To-Child Transmission, and supply chain management. She also helped develop a multi-method research strategy for the World Health Organization Maximizing Positive Synergies between Health Systems and Global Health Initiatives project, and is serving as Faculty Mentor for the Fall 2009 G-Lab GHD. She received her PhD in Business Studies at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, with a dissertation focused on the impact of research and development on the pharmaceutical supply chain. She previously served as a researcher for the Institute for International Integration Studies at Trinity College Dublin, Visiting PhD Fellow at Copenhagen Business School, and Research Assistant and Consultant at Harvard Business School. Erin holds a B.A. in Art History and History from Wellesley College.
