USAID-PATH Collaboration
As part of a USAID-funded initiative to support TB control in high-burden countries, PATH and the Global Health Delivery Project are joining forces to increase the reach and depth of knowledge and collaboration in the GHDonline “communities of practice” focused on tuberculosis: MDR-TB Treatment & Prevention and TB Infection Control. This work is funded by USAID through TASC2 Task Order 2, Contract Number GHS-I-00-02-00034-00, implemented by PATH.
PATH, a catalyst for global health, is an international nonprofit that creates sustainable, culturally relevant solutions enabling communities worldwide to break longstanding cycles of poor health. Reaching more than 70 countries, PATH responds to the spectrum of global health needs with a focus on: solutions for emerging and epidemic diseases like AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria; health technologies designed for and by the people who will use them in resource-constrained settings; safer childbirth and healthy children; health equity for women; and vaccines for women and children around the world. PATH provides both short- and long-term TB technical assistance to high burden countries across the globe in the areas of DOTS expansion, MDR-TB control, TB/HIV integrated programming, advocacy, communication, and social mobilization, laboratory strengthening, and public-private mix.
USAID is an independent U.S. government agency that receives overall foreign policy guidance from the Secretary of State. USAID supports long-term and equitable economic growth and advances U.S. foreign policy objectives by supporting economic growth; agriculture and trade; global health; and democracy, conflict prevention and humanitarian assistance.
